Dress Flat Washer, Straight Sides, Case Hardened Steel, Nickel Plated, Round Shape, USA Made, 0.656" ID, 1.375" OD, 0.125" Thick (Pack of 5) Feature

  • Machined Flat Washers are produced on Lathes, so they have straight sides without any die break
  • The tight fit of the inner diameter minimizes movement, and the thickness provides extra strength
  • 12L14 Low Carbon Bar Stock is machined, then case hardened and nickel (silver color) plated for a finished appearance
  • Used anywhere the washer is visible to the user, and you need a finished appearance that not only has the strength to work, but also conveys an image of quality and design consideration
  • Made In USA for excellent quality conformance
Dress flat washers are named because they are used to dress up a product. Machined from round stock, they present a finished appearance from all sizes, and front and back. There is no die break on the sides of these washers, as they were produced in Lathes rather than stamped from a coil. Used on faceplates, excercise equipment, high quality architectural hardware, medical and optical instruments, and anywhere that a good looking strong product is required. Extra thick material is used to increase both the strength and the appearance. Machined from 12L14 Low Carbon Steel Bar, then case hardened. This hardens just the surface (top and bottom) of the washer, leaving the core soft to avoid cracking from being too brittle. Then Nickel Plated for a vibrant look, as well as corrosion inhibition. Made in the USA.

Spherical Flat Washer, Female (Concave), Case Hardened Steel, Black Oxide, Round Shape, USA Made, 0.688" ID, 1.375" OD, 0.219" Thick (Pack of 1) Feature

  • The female half of the spherical washer set, this washer has a negative dish machined into the face that will accept the male positive feature
  • Female dished washer is fully machined
  • Low Carbon Steel, Case Hardened, Black Oxide Plated
  • Machinery, MRO, Power Generation, Transportation, Leveling
  • Made In USA for excellent quality conformance
Spherical Washer Sets allow the top and bottom halves to adjust to compensate for uneven or mismatched surfaces, achieving a flat bolting surface. A set consists of a female half (concave) where the washer is hollowed out or curved inward, while the male portion is convex (bulging outwards). These two halves match for a perfect set. The thickness of the set is calculated by putting both halves together and measuring the overall thickness. Both halves are machined and turned on our machines from 12L14 Low Carbon Steel. Parts are then case hardened, which hardens only the top layer of steel, leaving the center soft - this imparts strength on the bearing surface, but allows the part itself to flex, and avoid cracking from being too brittle. A Black Oxide plating is then applied, for appearance and a corrosion inhibitor. Made in the USA.

Dress Flat Washer, Countersunk, 18-8 Stainless Steel, Round Shape, USA Made, 0.281" ID, 1.375" OD, 0.281" Thick (Pack of 1) Feature

  • Dress washers are machined with an 82 degree countersunk Inner Diameter to accept a flat head bolt completely, and present a finished appearance
  • A machined component perfect for exposed applications that require strength and a smooth and flush dressed appearance
  • 18-8 Stainless Steel is the most common corrosion resistant Stainless Steel used in Flat Washers
  • A machined component used on faceplates, handles, and anywhere you need flush mount
  • Made In USA for excellent quality conformance
Dress Countersunk Washers are designed for standard 82 degree flat head bolts and screws. The countersunk Inner Diameter allows the screw to mount flush in the washer, presenting a safe and good looking joint. Designed for hand wheels, cranks, and any moving part that is on the outside of a product, the washer spreads the load from the joint across a wider area, and presents a safe and secure fastening. Manufactured on Lathes, these fully machined and finished parts are more industrial component than flat washer. The line accepts standard screws from number 8 through 1/4" bolts, with an extra thickness that looks good and provides extra holding power. Made in the USA from DFARS compliant 300 series Stainless Steel for strength, appearance, and corrosion resistance.

Component Flat Washer, Steel, Black Oxide, Round Shape, USA Made, 0.656" ID, 1.375" OD, 0.125" Thick (Pack of 25) Feature

  • Component Flat Washers are manufactured with thicker materials for extra strength and load distribution properties
  • The tight fit of the inner diameter minimizes movement, and the thickness provides extra strength
  • Low Carbon Steel is case hardened for extra wear resistance, and then black oxide plated for appearance
  • Originally used in the tool and die industries, these washers have gained acceptance in MRO, Machinery, and Component industries
  • Made In USA for excellent quality conformance
Component Flat Washers are named for their original popularity as a component of a jig or fixture, where a thicker washer was needed for the extra strength and load distribution properties that accompany the extra thickness. Our Component Washers are available from #4 screw size all the way thru 1-1/2" Bolt sizes. All Component Washers are thicker than any standard washer in general use. We provide two lines from stock - Thick and Extra Thick. Smaller diameters have a 5/64" thickness, going all the way up to 3/8" thickness, with the 1/8" thick line being the most popular. These washers are either stamped on power presses or turned on our lathes depending on the quantities we manufacture, and the wall thickness of the washer, which is the relationship between the thickness and the Inner Diameter dimension. All of these are suitable for use anywhere extra strength is needed. Low Carbon Steel is case hardened for extra surface hardness, while retaining the flexibility of a soft inner core, and then black oxide plated for an attractive finish.

Made in the USA. These flat washers are produced in the USA for excellent quality conformance. One of the significant differences between less expensive imported products and ours are the way we stamp. Many cheap imports are produced on gang dies that produce 10 or more washers per stroke of the press. Using such a large die means that the individual washer sets are not adjustable - when the punch wears, the dimensions change and there is no way to fix this as the press produces washers, leading to a large variation in the finished part.

Materials available in many other countries are not as consistent as the domestic steels we use, which gives the imports a cheaper cost, but can lead to failures and inconsistencies when the products are used. The Defense Federal Acquisition Regulation Supplement (DFARS) was created to address this problem. Our materials are DFARS compliant although we do not supply the certification except on special order.

  • Made in the USA to USS (United States Standard) dimensions
  • USS are larger and looser fitting than the SAE pattern washers
  • 18-8 Stainless Steel is the most common corrosion resistant Stainless Steel used in Flat Washers
  • USS pattern washers are large washers which distributes the load over a wide area - perfect for low strength and thin materials being clamped
  • One of the most common general purpose flat washers for MRO applications
SAE (Society of Automotive Engineers) and USS (United States Standard) washers are generally thought of together as the standard low cost option for flat washers in general usage. SAE washers are smaller in all dimensions than USS, so they don't distribute loads as well as the USS. However, they fit in many places that don't have room for the larger USS. These washers are generally manufactured out of low carbon steel with a zinc plating. We offer from stock a finely made washer out of 300 Series Stainless steel (302,303,304), which offers a combination of strength and corrosion resistance, or Type 316 Stainless Steel which offers a bit less strength, but more corroision resistance. Type 316 is specified in most marine and salt water environments, as well as most food processing and chemical plants.
