Industry Semi-Standard Component Flat Washer, Case Hardened Steel, Black Oxide, Round Shape, USA Made, 0.656" ID, 1.312" OD, 0.219" Thick (Pack of 5) Feature

  • Component Flat Washers are manufactured with thicker materials for extra strength and load distribution properties
  • Extra Thick for extra strength and load distribution properties
  • Low Carbon Steel, Case Hardened, and Black Oxide Plated
  • General industrial, mechanical, machinery, power transmission uses
  • Made In USA for excellent quality conformance
Component Flat Washers are named for their original popularity as a component of a jig or fixture, where a thicker washer was needed for the extra strength and load distribution properties that accompany the extra thickness. Our Component Washers are available from #4 screw size all the way thru 1-1/2" Bolt sizes. All Component Washers are thicker than any standard washer in general use. We provide two lines from stock - Thick and Extra Thick. Smaller diameters have a 5/64" thickness, going all the way up to 3/8" thickness, with the 1/8" thick line being the most popular. These washers are either stamped on power presses or turned on our lathes depending on the quantities we manufacture, and the wall thickness of the washer, which is the relationship between the thickness and the Inner Diameter dimension. All of these are suitable for use anywhere extra strength is needed. Low Carbon Steel is case hardened for extra surface hardness, while retaining the flexibility of a soft inner core, and then black oxide plated for an attractive finish.

Made in the USA. These flat washers are produced in the USA for excellent quality conformance. One of the significant differences between less expensive imported products and ours are the way we stamp. Many cheap imports are produced on gang dies that produce 10 or more washers per stroke of the press. Using such a large die means that the individual washer sets are not adjustable - when the punch wears, the dimensions change and there is no way to fix this as the press produces washers, leading to a large variation in the finished part.

Materials available in many other countries are not as consistent as the domestic steels we use, which gives the imports a cheaper cost, but can lead to failures and inconsistencies when the products are used. The Defense Federal Acquisition Regulation Supplement (DFARS) was created to address this problem. Our materials are DFARS compliant although we do not supply the certification except on special order.

MIL-SPEC Flat Washer, Meets Spec NAS1149, 18-8 Stainless Steel, Round Shape, USA Made, 3/4" Bolt Size , 0.765" ID, 1.312" OD, 0.090" Thick (Pack of 5) Feature

  • Made in the USA to Military Specifications
  • NAS1149 is an updated version of the general purpose Military Specification Flat Washer
  • 18-8 Stainless Steel is the most common corrosion resistant Stainless Steel used in Flat Washers
  • The sizes listed in this specification cover most industrial and military uses
  • Tight tolerances allow use in precision applications
The 3 most popular Military Specification Flat Washers that we offer are MS15795, AN960, NAS1149, and NAS620. These specifications were originally formulated by the Armed Forces of the USA to standardize fasteners being used on military equipment. Over time they have become a popular choice for designers in all industries and programs. All of these specs call out the same material - a 300 series Stainless with passivation. The differences are in the manufacturing tolerances, and the different dimension traits. the first choice should be the MS15795 series, which has the largest OD, and the largest hole diameters. Second choice should be the NAS1149 series. This has a smaller outer diameter, and a tight tolerance on the inner diameter as well as the thickness. AN960 offers an equal to the NAS1149 but with a larger tolerance on the thickness. NAS620 should be the last choice - this series has the smallest outer diameter, and the widest range of thickness tolerance.
