Vespel Flat Washer, #5, 0.141" ID, 0.281" OD, 0.031" Thick (Pack of 5) Feature

  • Flat Washers are an economical choice
  • Vespel is suitable where high temperature, high strength, and low levels of outgassing are desirable
  • Size Name corresponds to matching screw or bolt size
Standard flat washers are an economical choice when your application calls for spacers, shims, or re-enforcements with nominal dimensions only.

Vespel is a high performance polyimide material, which can operate continuously from cryogenic temperatures to 550 degrees Fahrenheit, with excursions to 900 degrees Fahrenheit. Vespel parts exhibit superior performance in a variety of applications requiring low wear and long life in severe environments. Vespel, unlike most plastics, is non-flammable. Parts perform without melting or softening, and resist radiation sterilization more effectively than most other plastics. Vespel parts exhibit a very low level of outgassing, even in high vacuum environments, and are chemically compatible with most fuels, solvents, lubricants and hydraulic fluids. Vespel has above average tensile strength for a polymer, at 12,600 psi (pounds per square inch). Vespel will absorb 0.24% of its weight when exposed to water for 24 hours. Vespel is extremely impact resistant, rated at 14 foot pounds (on the Izod Impact Scale), which compares favorably against Nylon 6/6 at 3 foot pounds. Vespel also has excellent insulating properties, measured in terms of dielectric strength, with a rating of 260 volts/millimeter.

PVDF Flat Washer, #6, 0.141" ID, 0.281" OD, 0.031" Thick (Pack of 5) Feature

  • Flat Washers are an economical choice
  • PVDF is suitable for applications that require high purity and low water absorption, along with greater strength than PTFE
  • Size Name corresponds to matching screw or bolt size
Standard flat washers are an economical choice when your application calls for spacers, shims, or re-enforcements with nominal dimensions only.

Polyvinylidene Fluoride, or PVDF, has a useful temperature range of -148 to 300 degrees Fahrenheit. PVDF exhibits similar properties to Kynar, a trade name of the Arkema Corporation. PVDF is generally used in applications requiring high purity, strength, and resistance to solvents, acids, bases and heat. It also generates little smoke during a fire event. PVDF exhibits below average strength as compared to Nylon 6/6, with tensile strength ranging from 5000 to 7000 psi (pounds per square inch) and impact strength of 1.2 foot pounds (on the Izod Impact Scale) as compared to 9000 psi, and 3 foot pounds, respectively. PVDF is stronger than PTFE and could be desirable where PTFE is not strong enough for the application. PVDF will absorb little or no water after 24 hours of exposure (less than 0.05% of weight impact). PVDF also has below average dielectric strength of 260 volts per millimeter (compared to 500 volts/mm for Nylon).

Dress Flat Washer, Countersunk, Case Hardened Steel, Black Oxide, Round Shape, USA Made, 0.203" ID, 0.813" OD, 0.141" Thick (Pack of 5) Feature

  • A component washer that has a 82 degree countersunk inner diameter that allows any standard flat head screw to seat flush with the top of the washer, presenting a completely finished and smooth appearance
  • A machined component perfect for exposed applications that require strength and a smooth and flush dressed appearance
  • Machined from 12L14 Low Carbon Steel, with a Black Oxide plating
  • A machined component used on faceplates, handles, and anywhere you need flush mount
  • Made In USA for excellent quality conformance
Dress Countersunk Washers are designed for standard 82 degree flat head bolts and screws. The countersunk Inner Diameter allows the screw to mount flush in the washer, presenting a safe and good looking joint. Designed for hand wheels, cranks, and any moving part that is on the outside of a product, the washer spreads the load from the joint across a wider area, and presents a safe and secure fastening. Manufactured on Lathes, these fully machined and finished parts are more industrial component than flat washer. The line accepts standard screws from number 8 through 1/4" bolts, with an extra thickness that looks good and provides extra holding power. Made in the USA from DFARS compliant 12L14 Low Carbon Steel, then case hardened and black oxide plated for strength, appearance, and a slight corrosion inhibitor.

  • Washers distribute load on a fastener
  • PEEK is suitable where high temperature, strength, and chemical resistance are desirable
  • Size Name corresponds to matching screw or bolt size
Washers are generally round plates with a hole, designed to distribute the load on a threaded fastener. They can also be used as spacers or to reduce vibration.

Polyetheretherketone (PEEK) is a superpolymer, or high performance thermoplastic which has excellent chemical resistance and is rated for continuous service to 464 degrees Fahrenheit. It has the best fire safety rating of all thermoplastics. It can be radiation sterilized, tolerating radiation to 1100 M rads without undergoing significant change. The Peek used in these fasteners has been reinforced with 30% glass fibers which improves tensile strength to 22,600 psi (pounds per square inch.). Peek resists water absorption, absorbing 0.11% when exposed to water for 24 hours. Peek is extremely impact resistant, rated at 13.6 foot pounds (on the Izod Impact Scale), which compares favorably against Nylon 6/6 at 3 foot pounds. Peek is below average in terms of dielectric strength, for a plastic, with a rating of 175 volts/millimeter (compared to Nylon with a rating of 550 volts/millimeter).
